Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best well-known for her films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She has an BA in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actor and producer who is active in films theater and television. Her stage debut was in the year 2000 and went onto appear in mainstream, independent and TV series. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for which she received not just praise from critics but also received a host of nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Film. Her career began acting in 1995 as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. Apart from Broadway's Come and Gone, she is also credited in Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. She is most well-known for her role in the series Men of Honor, The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. For her work on television she's been recognized for her performance in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
