Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero has been an actress and model in America over a long period of time. Most famously, she is known for her role in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain as well as singing lead in Apollonia 6, a girl group. Apollonia was given the title of a female singer and actress by Prince. The 1980s were a time of change for her she was among numerous artists who benefited from Prince. Sex Shooter on the soundtrack made a tiny success for the trio, but as Prince's Duet Partner on Take Me with You she was more successful. After a dispute over the direction of her career Apollonia 6 broke up, and Kotero stopped her collaboration with Prince. Following her appearance in minor movies (and reportedly refusing to be a part on The Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) She was part of the 1985-1986 show on television called Falcon Crest. Apollonia was finally able to release her debut album in 1988, but the fairly pedestrian set of songs that incorporated dance/R&B did not make much impression on those who bought music, and soon the album vanished off the shelves. She remained active (if a little under the radar) as an actress in the ensuing decade with small film roles on television and even issued an exercise video. Apollonia created a bilingual Spanish and English album called Stay with me. Then, she went back to college and received an education in filmmaking. She also formed her own production company. Apollonia is a multi-faceted person. Apollonia Kotero is an actress, model and former singer. Purple Rain, the 1984 movie in which she starred was her most well-known performance.
