Tommy Lee-1-819x1024Thomas Lee Bass is a Greek-American musician and the founding member of the heavy metal group Motley Crue. In addition, as the band's long-term drummer, Lee founded rap metal band Methods of Mayhem and has explored solo projects. Lee is a proponent of animal rights and PETA. In 2010, Lee wrote to Terry Prather, the president of SeaWorld protesting the treatment given to Tilikum the orca. Lee believed that the animal should be freed and said that SeaWorld did not agree, since Tilikum is their principal donor of sperm. Lee expressed his displeasure and was horrified by SeaWorld's cruel and untrue methods to obtain Tilikum Sperm. Lee said he wanted to avoid further tragedies of trainers being killed, as these tragedies had resulted from the whales' fear of captiveization.
